The artwork consists of a group of intertwined, organically shaped columns or rods that spiral upwards. The forms are fluid, evoking flames, coral, or human body parts that nestle against or interlock with one another. The surface texture is rough and irregular, featuring small ridges and depressions that lend depth to the material.
The coloration is the most striking feature. The sculpture is primarily rendered in a complex pattern of turquoise and blue tones reminiscent of patina or oxidized metal. Over these base colors, generous accents of warm, metallic gold have been applied. This gold appears on the tips of the rising forms, along the curves, and within some of the recesses, creating a strong contrast with the cooler blue and turquoise foundation. The application of color appears uneven, lending the surface a rich, almost lifelike quality.
The theme of the "Abduction of Helen" by Paris is evoked by the dynamic, intertwining forms and the intense coloration, which suggest a sense of drama and passion.
