This series of generative soundscapes is rooted in the primal principle of constant change – the Dao. The system operates as a closed, technological primordial soup where biology, ancient Chinese philosophy, and pure mathematics merge into a single entity.
The Source Material: The foundation of all sonic material is the most intimate human instrument – the organic, biological voice. Short vowels (A e i o u) and harsh consonants (tsch, tz) serve as the raw, physical building blocks.
The Philosophy (The I Ching): The transformation of the sound is driven entirely by the I Ching (The Book of Changes). Programmed within a custom software environment, the six lines of the hexagrams dynamically and continuously warp back and forth between Yin (0) and Yang (1).
The Technical Framework: Each individual line of the hexagram is modulated by its own independent phasers and oscillators. To bypass rigid, mechanical repetition and simulate the eternal flow of the Dao, the frequencies of these oscillators are tuned to prime numbers. Since their lowest common multiple is mathematically distant, the system practically never repeats itself.
The Synthesis: These asynchronous data streams modulate an advanced spectral synthesis engine in real time. Through Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT), the human voice is deconstructed into its atomic frequency components. Formants shift, spectra morph, and noise transients freeze into endless drones.
What you hear is the acoustic embodiment of the Ship of Theseus Paradox: the biological voice is completely dismantled and spectrally reassembled. While it is no longer physically recognizable as a human voice, its mathematical DNA remains an infinite, four-dimensional space-time worm of personal identity.
